WELCOME TO “RED RIESLING COUNTRY”
For several years, the winegrowers of the Bergstrasse have been harvesting red Riesling again on the sunny west slopes of the Odenwald. They use these grapes to produce a very special type of white wine. The Hessische Bergstrasse is known as “Red Riesling country” because many vintners have included this old but new variety in the range of wines they offer.
Discover the special features of the Bergstrasse grape varieties and the individual winemakers on guided tours and wine tastings in cellars, outdoors, at eateries and festivals.
Get to know the unique landscape and history of the Bergstraße holiday region on the “Wein und Stein” (Wine & Stone) or “Wein und Kultur” (Wine & Culture) geodiscovery trail.
